Good Morning!

Good Morning! Grab your favorite beverage to drink in the morning. Let’s take a few minutes to chit-chat this beautiful sun-shining day!

You may wonder what’s the topic at hand today. Hmmm….being joyful! You ever experience a time in your life that you felt pure joy. For some of you maybe it was your wedding day and that feeling deep in your soul that you married the love of your life. The moment that you held your newborn baby in your arms and tears begin to fill your eyes. Pure Joy!

I myself was overcome with joy recently just thinking about the future and knowing good things are ahead in my life. Truly realizing the blessings that I’ve received recently and through the years. My heart is full of gratitude, hope, and love.

As you sip on your favorite beverage just think about the times in your life that’s brought great joy to you. Share your story with someone that needs some encouragement in their life. It does the heart good to share stories of how God has blessed us in our lives. For me it’s the blessings after a storm that I’ve been through in my life. God kept me and saw me through it and really never stopped blessing me. I’m not the only one who has a story or testimony to share.

As I end this blog and you enjoy another sip of coffee, tea, orange juice or smoothie let a smile appear on your face as you think about those joyful times in life.

Be Blessed!

Never Say Never In Certain Aspects of Life

Pondering this morning on how quick some of us are to say things such as “I won’t continue my education.” “I’ll never get promoted any hirer in this company.” “I could never start my own business.” “I’ll never get married.” Do you see where I’m going with this relating those examples to the title of the post? We’re quick to say these things but God has other plans for us. I was quick to say being classified as legally blind all through my childhood and teenage years “This is my life, I’m classified as legally blind, that’s just how it’s going to be”, then WHAM, God healed my eyesight. Right before I made the decision to continue my education there was a period of time where I didn’t want to go back. I was verbally telling people. No, I’m not going back to college. Little did I know my whole mindset would change a few years later.

Bottom line is Never Say Never in certain aspects of life. God has the ultimate plan for our lives.

Take Care

Invigorating!

You know how you read a book or watch a movie and get inspiration for your life. I especially love when the overall theme is to just let go and enjoy life. I think we all need that check in are lives every now and then. Some are better at just letting go and enjoying life than others. Of course we all have obligations that’s a given. Yet, do we take the time to truly enjoy life. I find the greatest times when conquering a fear of mine. It’s INVIGORATING! I remember getting on a Ferris Wheel, yes laugh at me if you want to but it was a fear of mine. I don’t like heights at all even though I’m a tall person.(lol) I was at Mall of America and decided to conquer this fear of mine. I was shaking like a leaf stepping foot into the compartment to ride on the ferris wheel but I DID IT!

We sometimes want to live in are past (the good times). You know it’s ok to make new memories and enjoy your life to the fullest. We have so much life to live. LIVE IT!

Can I Press Pause?

via Daily Prompt: Pause

Can I press pause? Oh don’t we all want a press pause moment. I’m sure we all could think of various scenarios in are life. Can I have a press pause moment? Please! The moment someone ticks you off and the next thing you know all kinds of words fly out your mouth. If only I had a press pause moment to think about about the situation and how best to handle it before opening my mouth.(lol) If you’re like me a press pause button on a family member or friend that’s about to tell someone off.(lol) Oh! Moments like those a press pause button would come in handy.(lol) How about when your toddler is about to throw the ultimate tantrum right at the checkout line in front of the candy section with lots of people looking right at you? All the various stares and passing judgment without even knowing you. Please let me and my child get up out of this store quickly kind of moment. We’ve all had a moment or two where pressing pause would be a great option! But in all reality we don’t have a press pause button. You have to keep it moving and learn that everyday meets new challenges in life. For some it might be resisting the urge to cuss someone out that made you mad and instead think before you speak. The mother that has a child throwing a tantrum and think to herself I’m handling the situation the best I can and this will pass. Be confident in knowing that yes you will meet new challenges in life but you will be Victorious!

Declutter Your Bedroom Closet

Declutter! Declutter Declutter! How about we all say this 3 times and amazingly everything in your closet is all organized and absolutely no declutter to be seen. Right!

You won’t find too many people thrilled to clean out their closet, yet it’s something that needs to be done. Let’s face it who has the time to search through all the clothes when you need to be out the door in a hurry. A great way to help lessen the stress trying to get out the door is having an organized and clutter-free closet.

First Step

Gather a couple of baskets to collect clothing items and shoes that you no longer wear. The items collected will go to a donation center of your choice or you have a lot of options to resell items online which would be great if your saving for a vacation. If you haven’t worn the clothing item or shoes in a year it’s time to let the item go. If you’re having a problem letting go of items just think about the opportunity to help someone else. For instance, if you have business wear that would be great for someone that is going on an interview or starting a new position that requires business attire your donation or resell of an item would help someone tremendously.

Second Step

You need a trash bag and anything that is junk old papers that kind of stuff. You need to place in your trash bag and take to your local recycling center. If you find papers that are important to keep place them in a folder.

Third Step

Everything should be out of the closet but the clothing items and shoes you want to keep now. Next, group your clothing items by the season. Here is a great opportunity to store clothes that are out of season in a plastic container. This will help relieve some space in your closet.

Fourth Step

Now you want to take the clothing items that you have created groups for by now you should have out of season clothing items put away in a plastic container. You take the clothing items that are in season and begin to group them up by garment those items consist of pants, shirts, skirts, dresses, jeans, shorts, suits, etc. If you have the money purchase a closet organizer which will make it that much easier to place your items. If not that’s perfectly fine place your items by each garment category into your closet.

Next, shoes can be organized in the same way by item heels, flats, boots, tennis shoes, etc. If you can find an organizer for shoes such as cubes that are stackable that would be great to utilize in keeping your shoes organized in your closet. A lot of major retailers have great options for you to choose from. Cubes have come a long way in design since I was a teenager.

Now that you’ve gone through the steps to declutter your closet. You shouldn’t be stressed the moment you open your closet door. All your items should be visible to see in an organized fashion which is a great way to begin your mornings. Your morning will start out clutter free! I’d say that alone is a breath of fresh air at least to me.

Music Is Connection Piece

Nothing Like Live Music! Just saw one of my favorite music artist post her upcoming tour dates and if your anything like me when it comes to music Yassss! You are full of excitement! I’ve seen two of my absolute favorite music artist in concert. What makes it even better is when you can watch them in the same exact concert.

I love hearing that bass pumping before they even set foot on stage. A musician that’s truly great at their craft will give you a concert that is memorable. You are around all the fans and everyone is yelling and screaming from excitement when they step foot on stage. At that particular time you feel carefree in that moment. As my previous post discussed take time to have those carefree moments in life. Check out all the upcoming dates for music festivals and concerts make a selection or a few selections if you so choose. Be happy in that moment!

Restoration and Hope Blog is all about restoring, encouraging, inspiring, and showing how we are all connected in different ways. Music is a connection piece.

Carefree Times

It’s funny how one word can bring back so many memories from your childhood. You read all the various blog posts about Spring. Lots of the posts talk about gardening and instantly it brought back memories for me about my childhood. The last couple years a lot of talk has been about community gardens. It got me thinking about when a neighbor asked my parents if they wanted to plant some fruits and vegetables in our neighbor’s garden along with another neighbor. I remember going with my dad to tend are side of the garden. It’s funny how I can remember that but it must of been father-daughter time and my dad means the world to me. Sweet Memories!

You think back on those sweet moments in the spring. I call those carefree times. My mom would make her tea and put pitcher full outside in the sun. It was one of her favorite things to do. My sister and I would walk to my grandparent’s house and it was a blessing to have them just within walking distance. I don’t even think it took 5 minutes to walk to their house. I remember riding my bike throughout the neighborhood. Carefree days!

Bring back some carefree days in your life. Find a beautiful place where you can take in the beauty of nature. Throw around that baseball or softball with your kids, grandkids, or friends. Enjoy fishing on the lake. Create those long-lasting memories.

Spring Into A New Day!

Happy First Day Of Spring! How many of us find ourself in a rut a time or two in our lives? Spring you think about flowers about to bloom, fresh green grass, and for some spring cleaning time. Spring into a new day, new beginnings, new opportunities but what about that rut I’ve been in for the past week, month, and maybe even a year. Spring I say Spring!

All we can do is TRY! TRY! TRY! I put myself right in this as well. I’ve had my own health issues that I posted in my previous blogs that put me in a rut. Now all I can say to my own self is TRY TRY TRY! While dealing with my health issues and break-up in a relationship I went back to college to obtain my bachelor’s degree. I had no idea that going back to school was going to happen for me. Otherwise I wasn’t really seriously thinking about it. Just one day at church one of the deacons was talking to the congregation and I got an urge to pursue my education. No way no how this was even on my radar. Now I have my degree!

I’m in a whole new beginning for opportunities and new goals in my life. It’s time for a different mindset for myself. I know I’m not the only one who has experienced this in life or experiencing it right now. Mindset of you can do this JUST TRY! For me it’s writing I love to write. I wrote a post 3 years ago but never wrote another post. I finished my degree and got to thinking about what I love to do. I love to write and found this blog again. Words just started flowing for me like a stream of water. I’ve learned so much in a short amount of time. So much has happened in those three years that give me content to blog about and share with others. I always say that we are all connected it’s important to share are stories with each other. You see the connection within the story but maybe different situations or scenarios. It’s a new beginning for me to really focus on how we are connected through stories from are own lives.

Don’t be afraid to spring into your new beginning! Maybe it’s going back to school and pursue your education further. A new career that you can add your own expertise and push your career goals even further. Maybe you want to start your own business. You want to start your own blog or a new hobby that brings you gratification. You want to be more healthy. This list could go on and on!(lol) You probably have started your own list by now.

All I Can Say Is Spring! Spring! Spring!

Connection to Overcome

When you are going through something in your life that’s pulling at your emotions and then to overcome those emotions (let go) your soul says take it day by day. We can be so consumed in our emotions that we forget others are going through something in their lives. The connection is maybe it’s different circumstances but that same person comes to grips that to overcome those emotions they must (let go) and take it day by day. I came to this realization thinking about my own life and my own emotions. I finally decided to take it day by day my emotions wouldn’t consume me. I thought about someone else who was dealing with their emotions but different circumstances going on in their life. The person said I finally decided to take it day by day. I don’t want to miss out on what matters the most to me. Well that would be the aha moment for me. How I can see two different circumstances and even emotions but the connection was how to overcome those emotions. “Take it day by day”! We all go through things in life but we are all connected in various ways. Encourage someone today!
